Brewdog Take Beer to New Heights

January 19, 2019

The team at B&C did a major double take when we saw this news... a flight just for beer lovers, with properly trained beer sommeliers, sumptuous food, goodies, pampering and Brewdog merchandise... OMG... had we died and gone to heaven?

Spoiler alert - before you reach for your laptop and credit card, these first scheduled flights are fully booked, but fear not, at the end of this article there are some options, so keep reading!

Just when you think that we have reached the dizzying heights of beer tasting and enjoyment, along come Brewdog and blow us out of the water and into the next field. Brewdog are commissioning their very own Boeing 767 to run flights from 21 to 25 February 2019 between London Stansted and Columbus. Many of the attendants are trained beer sommeliers (known as cicerones), and will help passengers make the most of the Brewdog range whilst cruising at an altitude of 35,000ft. Instead of the usual foil wrapped monstrosity that is meant to qualify as a meal, passengers will be served a meal that has been paired with an exclusive brew that has been carefully designed to counteract one’s diminished faculties as flying impacts on the body’s ability to taste and smell.

Once fed and watered (or rather beered) you will be treated to some Brewdog inflight entertainment with a LoneWolf cocktail, before being tucked in for a little bit of shut eye with your Brewdog eye mask and blanket to ensure you are in good shape for landing.

Upon landing, passengers are whisked to The Doghouse and given a tour around the various breweries in the area, Brewdog’s own museum, as well as a day trip to Cincinnati. This perfect beer lover’s trip costs a mere £1,250 (S$2,228). Sadly, on this first trip, you have to be an Equity Punk, in other words, someone who helped fund Brewdog through the brewery’s public crowd-funding campaigns.

As we have said, this round of flights are sold out, but you can follow BrewDog’s social media channels for a chance to win tickets on the flight. The Facebook and Instagram pages currently have a post saying to tag a friend you’d take with you for a chance to win tickets. You can also register your interest in a second flight period on the
Brewdog website.
